Capacity Building

KL specialiszes in providing customised capacity building services to a wide range of clients and partners including national and state governments, multi-lateral and bi-lateral development aid agencies and national and international NGOs. These services are in the form of training, technical assistance and handholding as per emerging needs and demand of different development partners including communities.

Review & Evaluation

KL specializes in carrying out reviews and evaluations for organisations, programs, projects and innovative development initiatives. We approach all review and evaluation assignments as an exercise in strategic learning and action.


Formative research of a wide variety has been one of the functional domains of KL since inception. Most of our research assignments lead to some action on the ground. We specialize mainly in qualitative studies, though most of our research projects include both quantitative and qualitative data generation and analysis.


Knowledge Links has worked with Government of India, State Governments of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
Internationally we have worked in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, USA, Sri Lanka, Nepal & South Africa.

Supporting Organisation for capacity building & mentoring on CLTS for making Open Defecation Free Urban Local Bodies in Murshidabad

Training of CLTS resource persons, capacity development of the ULBs members to expand the pool of expertise available to provide quality CLTS training in the ULBs. Followed with, series customised training for creating a pool of master masons with the expertise of working in an urban context. Mentoring and handing holding support for upscaling the CLTS work on the field were provided.

As a scale up measure after successfully creating a buy-in for CLTS approach in the state, UNICEF, Raipur has engaged KL to train personnel across the 27 districts in the state, in the use of CLTS approach to successfully eliminate open defecation across the state.

District Disaster Management Plans (DDMP)

KL is providing technical assistance for the preparation of multi-hazard district disaster management plans (DDMP) across four districts of Jamui, Munger, Lakhisarai and Sheikhpura in Bihar. The assignment is commissioned by Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) as part of a larger initiative to help all the 38 districts in Bihar have multi-hazard DDMPs , as envisaged by National Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Identification, Capacity Building & Mentoring of Support Organization on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

DFID supported initiative in 12 Districts in Bihar, involves developing a screening Mechanism for selection of Support Organizations, training them in CLTS approach and management of water supply facilities created in the target habitations and creation of ODF habitations.
